From a Consciousness Perspective

The other night I watched Avatar, one of my all time favourite movies. In this movie, there are essentially two ways of thinking/living. The first is of the Avatar people, humanoids, who see nature and the environment as all connected as one. They live from and through the land and nature, they are very spiritual beings. They give thanks to the land for providing them with nourishment and only take what they need. The other way of thinking/living is that of the humans, who exploit the land and live from a place of ego and selfishness, they only think of themselves and what they need. This got me thinking about our modern day way of living. I feel that we have crept into the human way of thinking and living, exploiting our resources that mother nature has provided us. And, it’s no coincidence all of the natural disasters that we have been experiencing. Mother Nature is sick and depleted, she is needing healing. Now, since everything is a mirror of our internal state, our external environment is a reflection of our internal environment, you can see what Mother Nature is trying to show us. We, as humans, are sick and depleted as well. I can take full ownership of this mirror for myself. I have been feeling depleted for a long time now and this pause has been much needed.

Also, a limiting belief system can be pulled from the paragraph I shared above. Can you see the polarities I have pointed out? The difference between the avatars and humans? There is a polarity between connection and disconnection, nourishment and exploitation. Now, we all function from belief systems that we have adopted since conception. Our core belief systems are created from conception to about seven years old. These core belief systems are what we function from, these are our subconscious programs that we aren’t even aware of. I like to use the example of a young child who may have been called stupid by someone when they were really young. Now, of course this young child is not going to accept that they are stupid so they are going to shove this label down into their subconscious and instead wear the label of smart. Because our external environment is a reflection of our internal environment, this child will be projecting stupid out into their external world and will attract situations and people that they perceive as stupid. They have adopted a limiting belief system around stupid and smart and will carry this subconscious program their entire life unless they are able to bring it to their awareness. When we start to become aware of our subconscious belief systems, we strip their power away and dissolve the belief system. How powerful is that? We don’t need to function from these limiting belief systems that are holding us back from fully living life. More often than not, our belief systems are limiting us and narrowing our perceptions of life instead of expanding them.

What can you do to investigate your limiting belief systems. One powerful way that I have found is to start journaling. You can start by writing about something that is bothering you. Just keep writing until you are able to see where you have limited thinking, guaranteed you will find a limiting belief system in those sentences. Another fantastic way of investigating limiting belief systems is through a BodyTalk session. BodyTalk sessions are geared completely toward you and what you are ready to let go of.
