What should I wear?
You can wear a swim suit underneath a base layer (we recommend a merino wool short sleeved or long sleeved top). Then pack with you a fleece or wool sweater and a rain jacket. As for bottoms, we recommend wearing a quick dry material of shorts, capris or pants and bringing with you a pair of rain pants. As for your feet, we recommend submersible footwear that you can get wet. Please bring with you an extra change of clothes and footwear.
What if I run out of water?
No worries, we have you covered with a filter that we refill water bottles right from the river or lake!
Do you supply life jackets?
Yes, we have various sizes of PFDs/life jackets that we provide, along with a whistle attached!
Can I still join if I’ve never paddled before?
Even though we recommend previous paddling experience, we can provide you with training that will allow you to feel safe and confident on a stand-up paddleboard!
Do I need to stand for the whole trip?
Absolutely not! You can stand, kneel or sit down for any duration of the paddle!
What about a bathroom during the trip?
At camp we set up a backcountry toilet with toilet paper and a wash basin to wash your hands!
What others are saying about this Experience:
I really enjoyed the trip last weekend. The paddling was challenging the first day as it was a bit stormy. Kyla was so attentive to the group and we had a shorter first day. I really appreciated how she gauged the group and was so flexible with the plan. The camp set up couldn't have been better. Kyla seems to have thought of everything. Right down to dairy free meals and snacks for me! The group of mostly strangers got along so well and everyone was so supportive. The second day paddle was so beautiful. We had further to go but nature was on our side and had less wind and a sunny day. We all shared how happy and excited we felt to accomplish this trip. Again, the food was great - too much for me to eat! I feel so much more prepared for paddling and just proved to myself that I both enjoy it and that I CAN do it! Thanks all for a great trip.
Deb
My husband and I went on the over night paddle board experience. It was one of the coolest adventures we have went on! Kyla was very organized during the entire trip. Her calm demeanour and knowledge made the trip relaxing and enjoyable. The catered meals from The Bunkhouse were absolutely delicious! It was so nice the adventure package included meals and everything you needed!
I would highly recommend Back2Nature Wellness for any adventure or event.
Chelsea
Amazing experience!! Attended the stand up paddle board overnight trip with Kyla and it was wonderful. Beautiful scenery along the Saskatchewan river with all sorts of nature and sand that could be mistaken for a beach in Mexico. High quality paddling, storage, and camping equipment and a wonderful guide! Kyla is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions or help in any way she can. The snacks and meals are incredible. She makes sure everyone feels welcome, comfortable, and included no matter their previous paddling or camping experience. Would highly recommend for anyone interested in getting outdoors and experiencing the beautiful province Saskatchewan is with a amazing guide along the way!
Randie
What an amazing weekend! Very well organized, thoughtfully planned, and so much fun! Amazing group of people to share this fun adventure with. Will definitely be going on another paddle board trip. Always a beautiful experience with Kyla, thank you for everything you do. 10/10 you def want to try out one of Kyla’s various excursions, you will have a great time making lasting memories!
Sarah
What an amazing experience. I just returned from the overnight SUP trip. Every detail was well thought out, planned, and executed. The equipment was high quality and the food delicious. Kyla was the perfect combination of calm, capable, and fun. I felt safe and comfortable the whole time, despite only having previous experience paddling on flat water. I went with a couple friends but would not hesitate to sign up for another trip on my own in the future. Highly recommended!
Nicole
I atttended an overnight paddle board adventure with Back2Nature - I had so much fun! I have never paddle boarded before and I haven't tented in over 20 years - everything I needed was provided, I just brought clothes and snacks (which I didn't end up eating at all because the food was amazing and filling). I have lived in Saskatoon my whole life but have never experienced the river like that. My arms are sore, but I am refreshed. This has sparked a level of adventure in me I didn't know was there! Kyla was always calm, helpful and very flexible with the schedule - just going with the flow of what the group needed. I didn't know anyone else attending and enjoyed great conversations and getting to know them. I highly recommend this!!!
Meghan
One of the best experiences of my life. I was somewhat worried about it because I had never done anything like this before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Kyla more than prepared us. The weather was perfect, the food was amazing, and the other women we met on the trip were so much fun! Would most certainly do something like this again. I HIGHLY recommend Back2Nature Wellness and Adventures!!!
Tamara
To be able to combine 2 things I love to do (camping & paddle boarding) with the ease of everything (equipment and food) being provided was truly a wonderful experience! There really isn't anything better than being in nature! It's good for the mind, body and soul! I highly recommend joining an adventure with Back2Nature Wellness and Adventures! Thank you for the memories!
